Miel Accessories is a US based designer label and began 4 years ago while Lisandra Ochra, head designer was still a fashion design student. After buying an industrial sewing machine that filled up the majority of her small San Francisco apartment, she started designing for her friends and soon enough she had enough informal requests to turn her flat into more of a design studio.

 

From the start the Miel philosophy has been to create a flattering shape for the curves of a woman’s body, Nobody looks good carrying around a box.

And like the name of the  company, Miel, which is Spanish for honey and Lisandra's childhood nickname, she always put the sweet details in. One of her favourite touches is selecting pretty, nice-to-touch fabric for Miel bag’ interiors.” After all, it’s the part of the bag the owner sees the most when she’s using it.”

Touted as the next big thing by industry veterans such as Kate Spade and Marc Jacobs, Miel is stocked exclusively in Australia by Kpau.
